wow! what a trip! well, went down the coast in my cousin's van in cloudy & rainy weather. Took just 8 hours to get there so was tired on arrival but not in too much pain (thank you God!) As soon as we got there my nephew and cousin shifted my special bed from the cottage to Mum's where it will stay so i can use it when i visit. Tazz bought me the same sort here but in a bigger size as he is a big boy lol.
Had a wonderful day with all my family for my Mum's 82nd birthday on the Sunday then had my chemo meds that night.
Next day waited until lunchtime to start as i am not supposed to do anything the day after my meds. My cousin who is 6'8 went around to the cottage and started cleaning ceilings and walls for me before i went around as last time i got sick from the mould in the place. Unfortunately the lady who has been living there hasn't cleaned since i left i don't think ugh!
During the week, my sister in law, mum, sister, cousin and 2 neices (9 & 18) helped me pack all my belongings, sorted plants & loaded up the van.
While i was down there i got to go to AA meetings where i got sober over 12 years ago and see my sponsor which was great. I will be getting a sponsor up here now as I believe it to be important to have that one person you tell everything to.
On the trip home, there was hardly any room for me in the van lol but after 8 hours driving, God got us back safely. My cousin & Tazz unloaded the van and Tazz had dinner prepared for us so that was lovely. Since then I have slowly started to unpack but as Tazz says - there is no hurry. Surprisingly enough, I haven't been in as much agony as I was a few weeks ago which is such a blessing - the new meds seem to be working. I feel completely exhausted though so am pacing myself.
I am going to miss my family now that i live 8 hours drive away but as my mum says "life is too short to not live it"
so here i am starting a new life at nearly 56 years of age woohoo!
Sorry for welcoming new members late - it is good to have you onsite hugsz
