Welcome Loner, glad you joined...I don't get here very often, but I got a email reminding me I have this group I started!!! I have not received an email here since November....4 years is Awesome...just had my 2 years Feb 10th....my name is Vicki....my mom has breast cancer and doesnt have much time left, my group is keeping me strong with all their love and support....makes me wonder how the normies get through! I relapsed after 4 years of sobriety.  I am new to this site and this group.  I am very grateful to be sober today and look forward to interacting with others in recovery.  Have a great weekend!  :)

Hello all. i relapsed after having a year and 3 months. I took my last drink August 9 of 2010. I've been told relapse is part of recovery so I'm hoping I will remain sober with the help of other sober friends an AA.

I relapsed behind RX meds after 27 yrs clean & sober. I still haven't had a drink in 29 yrs. Nevertheless I had to start again, and recently celebrated one yr!! Talk about miracles.

Thanks for being here. Understand frustration and hope that you can find some to listen for a minute. I am glad you shared on that cause I am a pretty good listener but I lie to myself when I say it is alright to have someone not be willing to listen or talk over me or worse try to solve my every problem. I learned the frustration of that by doing that to my ex-wife and I never even thought I was doing that until she informed me in a way I will never forget.
I have gotten extreamly busy and I hope things slow down so I can get back here more often. Thank you Lori for your sharing. Thanks for your prayers and you and everyone are in mine. Peace.

Wow, haven't been here for awhile and it looks like alot of other people haven't either.
I am just living on the edge. Physical illness is taking it's toll and having a hard time finding anybody to really talk to.
Last lady I tried to hook up with, I told her I really needed someone to just listen, and I got her autobiography, everything that was wrong with her dadadadad..........I was tired, hurting and desperate or I would not have asked for help, cuz that't what I do, wait until the last minute.
Needless to say when I told her I did not want to hear her life story, I just needed someone to listen for a minute, she told me I was not her friend "right now". Wow. Maybe I just can't get along with people.
Good to see some old friends here however. I do believe in the 12 steps and a life of recovery. Maybe that's the problem, seems I am too tired anymore to care enough, and I will not live with quantity sobriety. I want quality. Had it before ya know, and I am sure someone out there relates to that. Love ya all, you are in my prayers. Angels on your pillows. Night.
