Hi Im Mike, Im an alcoholic originally from Santa Monica but now live in Petaluma. Life has had some moments since that last famous beer, but for the most part it has improved. I have learned that the more I trust in God the better and easier life gets. Step 3 has been a major role in keeping my feet where they are supposed to be. Steps 4 through 7 cleared my mind and spirit in ways that I could of never imagined. Step 8 and 9 will never be done all the way since they are on going through the next two steps. And finally big step 12, well Im too new to be a sponser but I do at times speak up at meetings and get some good feedback.

What's up Mike? Glad to hear that you're doing well.

I'm Ryan, in Napa (moved up here a few months ago). The interesting aspect of sobriety and the program for me has been that once I removed the alcohol and started working on behaviors, I realized all of the things that I had not been dealing with in my life. There have been many things that I had thought I had confronted and/or dealt with that I hadn't at all. Steps 8 and 9 are extraordinarily important for me in that I am able to look at situations and events that I thought were shaping the way I feel about the world and realizing them for what they are/were and recognizing my part in them.
I am a firm believer that "we didn't get here because of our problems, but because of our solutions to those problems" and that the best way to confront these issues is with the help of a group of people who have the same frame of reference.
