The world of spirituality and the world we live in are so drasticly different, that more times then not disagree with each other. The old ways or the new ways? The old ways have the right balance, this society has almost no balance. Have any of you come across a way to live in these two such different worlds. I'm sure I'm not the only one who is going through this. What do you do to stay in balance?

Balance in my life is a life long journey, the old ways teach us how to live and to be grateful for the gift's creator has given us, to be happy with what we have. Today's world is very commercialized, we get bombarded every where, T.V. , radio, ect. I have slowly changed what an where i get info from, i don't watch much T.V. or listen to regular radio. Removing these two things help's me stay with creator through out my day. I have learned to live very simple good life, creator has given me what i need to live well. I don't worry what i don't have. I start my day with gratitude, through out my day keep my mind open, when life gets tough i ask what am i to learn from this experience and give thank's for the experience (good or bad), an end my day in gratitude. Perspective; We are spirit's on a human experience not human's on a spiritual experience.

first off the most important thing for me to do is stay off of any mind, mood alertering substance, for with out soberity i have nothing. then and only then am i able to pratice any kind of spiritual walk in life at all. from there i just take it one day at a time just like any of our fathers before us have taken.
although some tribes may pratice spirtual ways that include these substances i choose not to do this as my tride didn't take part in these types of ceremonies. I work on forgiveness on the daily basis as this seems to come up the most its been very hard for me to find complete forgiveness where i can just do it once. it seems to creep into my daily life and i have to some how find my way back to forgiveness. like the other day i was at a friends house who invited me for an AA gathering I was 1 of only 3 natives there the other 2 was my wife and brother. well this guy came up and was talking to me about our tribal hunting and fishing rights then he said its not the indains that he doen't like its the laws that he doesn't like that he thought it was unfair for us to have hunting privilages as he put it. I did my best not to engage this conversation but it upsets me that i go to these AA events and have to put up with folks i would have to call it racism. I see it all the time at meetings and it upsets me. but i have to let it go.
By going to AA and NA meetings and doing the next right thing. It's always a matter of respecting all things and all others right to believe they way they do.
